About

Trenton Almgren-Davis is a documentary photographer and photo editor from St. Louis, Missouri. He is currently interning as a visual journalist at the Cascadia Daily News, an independent startup newspaper that covers Whatcom and Skagit counties in northern Washington.

Almgren-Davis has a passion for studying the intersection between sports and society. His graduate research at the Missouri School of Journalism explored the sports photographer's perspective during the pandemic through in-depth interviews.

At MU, he led a team of graduate coordinators for the production of Pictures of the Year International (POYi) and College Photographer of the Year (CPOY) competitions.

He also photographed, reported and edited for the Columbia Missourian. As the photo editor for the social justice beat, he provided the visual leadership to the stories relating to race, culture, ethnicity and identity. He championed the team’s photography and produced digital and print documentary projects from ideation and schedule creation to curation and publication.
